Now we have a look at the MACD in 2016. The risk setting in this automated video message is 8.
So how do you find the right value for the risk setting?
Well, it is always a good idea to start with a low risk like 1 or 2 and watch the balance and the equity curve.
But most humans would find the account development too slow with such a low risk setting.
It is possible to increase the risk setting at any time, but you should have good reasons for that.
And I don’t consider that being bored is a good reason.
I would rather look at the development of the balance and the equity curve and if there are no major draw downs and the equity is above the initial deposit, it might be time to increase the risk.
Risk settings above 10 are possible, but I consider that to be insane, because market conditions can change at any time.
I have done excessive test series for up to 10 years in a row and most of the time a risk setting between 2 and 3 is what I consider to be save.
